Amazing just begins to describe the color of this natural rubellite tourmaline from Nigeria.  Incredible under all light conditions, and superior to the photos.  Gem is transparent, bright and lively, with uniform saturated color, medium tone and great proportions due to a precision recut in the USA - the last two pictures are the cutter's before and after photographs.  It has light, nondistracting visible colorless inclusions, good clarity for a true rubellite tourmaline with this degree of saturation.  First eight pictures show the gem in indirect natural sunlight on a neutral gray background.  In real life, the gem is more red and less pink than my photos, and more red and less purple than the cutter's.  Measures 10.3x5.7X4mm in a radiant cut rectangular baguette, and weighs 2.17 carats.
