The Lipton tennis Championships 1994 ticket signed by Vitas Gerulaitis

Here for your consideration is an extremely rare autograph of now deceased Vitas Gerulaitis. My husbands company was one of the companies sponsoring the Lipton Championship which was held on Key Biscayne in Miami in March of 1994. They hired Vitas and Cliff Drysdale (also an ex tennis pro who turned announcer at major tournaments) to do a tennis clinic for the companies participants which we partook in. After the clinic, he and Cliff Drysdale signed our tickets right in front of us. We did not have them authenticated, however, if you wish to do so you are more than welcome. If it comes back to be false, we will absolutely refund your money however being they were signed while we were standing right in front of them that would not be the case.
Vitas retired from tennis in 1986 and tragically died in a freak accident on Sept  17,1994 from carbon monixide poisoning. This was 6 months after we met him.
This particular tournament pitted Agassi against Sampras in the finals. Sampras was not feeling well, possibly thought to be a stomach flu, so Agassi, being the nice guy agreed to extend the start time of the final from 1pm to 4pm approximately. Sampras came back to beat Agassi in the final 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 to take a 5-4 lead in their emerging rivalry. Sometimes nice guys do finish last!
The ticket is in very good condition except for a small tear in the upper left hand corner where it had been stapled in the book and removed at the tournament. There are no other rips, stains, creases or folds. The autograph is in great condition as he used a sharpie so no fading. Pictured in and out of plastic sleeve.
