Item Description (to the best of seller’s knowledge): Made in Korea in the 1980s, this autographed Adidas Stan Smith shoe was signed by the legendary tennis star long before the shoe became an international sports and fashion icon. It has all the original vintage features: three lines of perforation holes on the leather uppers; Stan Smith’s likeness and printed signature on the tongue; fairway-green heel with Adidas logo and “stan smith” printed beneath it; old-school white leather with accented round bright-white lace holes; etc.
Provenance: Seller recently found this item in storage when helping his mother move to an apartment. Stan Smith was the surprise guest and keynote speaker at a national junior tennis tournament in Boca Raton, FL in 1990 or 1991. Seller removed his left shoe and obtained Mr. Smith’s autograph in person, using a black felt-tipped permanent marker.
Condition: Vintage / “As Is”
Comments: Intended for display. Left shoe only. Signature is well-preserved. Shoe had been worn on the court and shows ordinary wear. Lightly cleaned with disinfectant on soft cloth. Original laces.
