These are blanks! They are not ready to go, drop in parts. You need to fashion these blanks into functional parts!
These are a great replacement for various makes and models of acoustic bass and classical guitar. The nuts are wide enough for any classical guitar and will be plenty for any bass.
Please measure what you have to be certain of what you need!
Carving a nut for a classical or bass guitar is far easier than carving a nut for an electric guitar.  You could slot all your strings with the same round file since the high E string and low E string are comparable in width.
Brass is a denser material compared to plastic or simulated bone. It may offer a higher brightness in tone and a boost in volume.  But, I wouldn't be looking for much! And from my experience there really isn't much difference to merit performing this task solely based on that. Whatever you may be looking for can be achieved in an active EQ anyway. But hey! it's easy enough to do even if you think it just looks better!
