This is an ultra rare Pre Ernie Ball Stingray that weighs UNDER 9 POUNDS!  That is RARE.  This has been inspected, cleaned and set up by the Stingray Man.

Description
One general rule for evaluating Pre Ernie Ball Stingray Basses is the lighter the better.  Having a Stingray Bass that is under 10 pounds is nice but to have one under 9 pounds is almost unheard of.  This is 8 POUNDS AND 9 OUNCES which is a dream come true.
The bass is almost all original, only the volume pot has been changed.  This has an ash body with the original natural finish which has a nice patina.  The hardware is chrome and all original and looks fantastic.  This has an epoxy preamp and a Thunder Pocket which is a routed area under the pickups that aids greatly with tone.  This also includes an original case which is rare.
This is a superb example of a vintage Stingray Bass and finding one at this weight is very unusual.
Condition
This is in excellent shape and is in a condition I call an Organic Relic.  The finish has a nice patina which can only be acquired with age.  The hardware is clean which looks great on this bass.  The frets are in good shape and everything is functional and clean.  The original case is not only rare that also is very clean.  This is a fantastic package in great shape.
This has also been set up by the Stingray Man with new GHS strings.  This bass plays great with loads of tone.  This is a true funk machine.
